Michael died August 17,  2018, from metastatic pancreatic cancer. His wife, Stacey, died nine years before him. They had two children, Lyle and Ruby, who are now young adults. Lyle now lives in Eugene, Oregon, near me. Ruby attends Middlebury College in Vermont. Michael had a successful career in sales in the music industry. He was also a gifted photographer, who worked extensively in New Orleans, documenting the lives, culture, and traditions of the Mardi Gras Indians. He is deeply missed by his family and friends.
